University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest is a 230-years old university in the heart of Europe with reach traditions and high quality education. The University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest is, as appropriate for a country with a population of 10.5 million, the only veterinary school in Hungary. Current enrolment is about 100, 120 and 120 students for the Hungarian, German and English programs, respectively. This means that it includes a total of 1,000 students at the veterinary school. As in the case of all state universities in the country the Faculty is officially supervised by the Ministry of Education and its teaching and research programs are also sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Regional Development and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

The degree students obtain here automatically qualifies them to practice anywhere in the European Union and in many other countries as well. After a thorough theoretical foundation of studies, students receive their practical training on how to treat and cure animals. In the Large and Small Animal Clinics students can star working alongside experienced veterinarians and get to deepen their knowledge. Moreover, Budapest is one of the most livable cities in the Europe with its truly cosmopolitan city center, excellent public transport and affordable prices. It offers the advantages of a big European city with a unique and friendly atmosphere. Therefore, just like Budapest itself, the University of Veterinary Medicine is a wonderful mixture of international and Hungarian people.
